The premiere issue of JAM will appear in early 2007. "Under the leadership of Senior Editor George F. Koob, Ph.D., and Co-Editors Martha J. Wunsch, M.D., and Shannon C. Miller, M.D., JAM is poised to become the premiere publication in its field," says Richard Winters, Executive Editor at LWW.

Each issue of Journal of Addiction Medicine will present original, peer-reviewed studies from the full range of scientific and clinical areas in Addiction Medicine research-from the neurobiology and neuropharmacology lab, to the specialty clinic, to the family doctor's office. In addition to the latest scientific and medical advances, JAM will cover the myriad ethical, economic, forensic, and social issues involved in addictive diseases.

New research will be complemented by current reviews and editorials, clinical case conferences, letters to the editors, and other content of interest to practicing physicians and all professionals who work with patients with addiction disorders. "We've assembled a wide-ranging editorial team with proven expertise reflecting the unprecedented changes happening in Addiction Medicine. This is brought to focus by the appointment of Dr. Koob as Senior Editor," says Dr. Miller. "Our goal is to provide a forum for all professionals with a stake in treating addiction disorders-a catalyst for discussions that will shape the future of our specialty."

Members of ASAM will receive each quarterly issue of JAM as a benefit of membership. Members and subscribers will also be able to access the entire contents of each issue on the dedicated journal website, online soon at www.journaladdictionmedicine.com. The website will also provide access to LWW's Editorial Manager, an automated, web-based tool that enables users to electronically submit, review and track manuscripts and artwork online. Institutions will be able to access Journal of Addiction Medicine electronically on Journals@Ovid, which offers more than 1,200 premiere medical and academic journals, and is produced by Ovid, LWW's sister company within Wolters Kluwer Health.
