The Infant Patient Encounter is the first in a series of CD-ROMs being created by Thomas Jefferson University to teach health care professionals effective ways to approach infant patients, interview caregivers, and perform a successful physical examination. This highly interactive CD-ROM contains numerous video clips, animations, still photos, case studies, and heart and lung sounds, and includes a post-test. Part 1 focuses on interviewing parents and presents various video clips, asking students to critique the interviewing strategy. Part 2 covers the infant physical examination and progresses through the body systems, demonstrating anatomic structures and examination techniques while using charts and screening tools.
