    LWW Book Publishing FAQ

    How do I contact Acquisitions?
    Have a question?

Where do I send my proposal? Find all the information you need to send your proposal by visiting the sending proposals page under Execute.

How do I submit a proposal for a new book? For a revision? Each specialty or discipline has its own criteria for submitting proposals and revisions. Find the specialty or discipline your book idea focuses on using the links to New Book Proposal Guidelines and Revision Proposal Guidelines.

What is involved in the proposal review process and how long will it take? The proposal approval process may take up to 5 months, including but not limited to, obtaining market reviews, providing internal assessments, corresponding with the author(s), preparing financial analysis, compiling data, and presenting the project to the LWW editorial board.

How do I find out the status of a proposal I have submitted? You can find out what stage your proposal is in by contacting the Acquisitions Editor of your specialty or discipline.

Has LWW published books on my topic before? Search LWW.com's Online Store by topic to find out if we have already published books on your topic. This listing will help you get a sense of competition as well as serve as a resource for illustrations and tables if we decide to publish your book.

Would my idea work better as a newsletter or journal article? Visit the author support pages for journals and newsletters to find out if your idea would be more effective as an article for either of these media.

I've signed a contract, what do I do next? Once you've signed a contract with LWW, the next step is to begin preparing your manuscript.

My book is in production, what do I need to do? Once you have completed and submitted your manuscript, your book will be launched to production. Primarily, you will be responsible for you and your contributors' editing of page proofs.

I've found an error in my published book, what do I do? Contact your acquisition editor or editorial assistant about the error. The error will then be forwarded onto LWW's reprints department for correction if your book undergoes a second printing.

Who do I contact about foreign translations? For information on foreign queries related to your book, contact LWW's translations rights department.

How do I find out how my book is selling? Contact your acquisitions editor for questions related to sales.

How do I order author copies of my book? An unlimited number of author copies is available to authors at a discount rate (generally 25%, but this could vary according to contract). To order author copies, call 1-800-638-3030.
