Journal Division & Topics
LWW Journals are divided into two primary groups: LWW Medical and LWW Society. Medical journals are published primarily for nurses and physicians. Society journals are published as a service to professional societies. LWW produces over 200 journals in 90 specialties. Use the the journal catalog on LWW.com to determine which journal will be the best for your article or paper.
Journal Web Sites
Over 150 of LWW's journals currently maintain web sites and online content. Each web site contains topics and items related to that journal, including statements of authorship, current and past issue content, as well as author writing guidelines. If your paper or article is accepted to one of LWW's online journals, it may be published online as well. Once you have received notification that your manuscript has been reviewed and accepted, talk to the journal editor about the possibility of publishing it on the journal's web site.
Patient Consent
It is the author's responsibility to ensure that a patient's anonymity be carefully protected and to verify that any experimental investigation with human subjects reported in the manuscript was performed with informed consent and following all the guidelines for experimental investigation with human subjects required by the institution(s) with which all the authors are affiliated. Authors should mask patients' eyes and remove patients' names from figures unless they obtain written consent from the patients and submit written consent with the manuscript.
Included here is a sample patient consent form (.pdf file) for your reference.
Content Permission
If your paper contains content from a previously published source, including LWW publications, you will need to obtain written permission from the sponsor, author, or publisher of that source. Any costs incurred will be at the expense of the author. For additional help, visit the permission guidelines for book publishing. Rights you retain as an author in one of LWW's journals are here.
