The increased use of imaging modalities for detecting disease states has resulted in a need for radiological information specific to ultrasound imaging.
Ultrasound Quarterly is a publication designed to meet the informational needs of medical care providers who utilize ultrasound imaging in their practice, and who must ensure that ultrasound imaging in patients is done for the right clinical reasons in an appropriate and optimum manner, that their diagnostic conclusions are correct, and that the information they relay to the clinician is useful and clear.
The Editor-in-Chief of Ultrasound Quarterly, Dr. Matthew Rifkin, is a world-renowned expert in ultrasound imaging. Dr. Rifkin has assembled a large nationally and internationally recognized Editorial Board. Participants in previous issues of the journal have been requested to provide topic suggestions for future journal articles. Dr. Rifkin has reviewed those topic suggestions and will utilize them as he invites articles and reviews unsolicited manuscripts.
The format and design of Ultrasound Quarterly allows it to serve as a creditable and effective distance learning tool for medical care providers with an interest in the specialized techniques, advances, and applications of ultrasound imaging.

The Lippincott CME Institute, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The Ultrasound Quarterly CME Program enables current
readers to earn up to 18 hours in Category 1 credit per
year. The review articles published in every quarterly issue
throughout the year are designated course reading. Those who
are interested in earning CME credit hours should read the
articles and then take the exam included in each monthly
issue.
To become eligible for up to 16 hours in Category 1 credit annually,
readers will need to correctly answer 70 percent or higher of the
questions on each of the multiple choice examinations presented
quarterly. A CME examination will be included in each quarterly
issue and will cover the four review articles contained within that
issue. Participants may choose to complete the quiz for all of the
articles or may select one or more of the articles from each issue.
To earn CME credit, mail a photocopy of the completed quiz
with a check for $10 per credit hour/article ($5 if you are a member
of the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound) to Lippincott CME Institute, Inc., 770 Township Line Road, Suite 300, Yardley, PA 19067. Only the first entry will be considered
for credit and must be received by LWW by the expiration date noted
in each issue. Certificates will be mailed to each participant within
six to eight weeks after receipt.

Eight evaluation assessment questions will be included as part of the CME Quiz. These questions ensure that we determine that each activity's learning objectives have been met, that the activity was of educational value to the target audience and was unbiased, and offer participants a method of feedback.
Each individual CME activity will expire within one year of the activity’s release date.
