Basic Searching There are three primary methods of searching for product information on LWW.com. | ||
| 1. Yellow tabs at the top right of the page separate LWW products by media type. Clicking on any one of these tabs will return a page that allows you to search for a product by specialty in that particular media type. | ||
| 2. Browse by specialty on the blue left side navigation menu allows you to search all products in all media types by a particular specialty. | |
| ||
| 3. Keyword searching allows you to search by one or more words or phrases in the author, title, ISSN/ISBN and product description. If you enter more than one keyword the results returned will be those items that contain all the words you entered. | ||

| Title |
By selecting the Title option and searching for word(s) your results will be
any publication that contains your search word(s) in the title and sub-title.
E.G. A search for liver will return
100% Transplantation of the Liver |
| Author | Selecting the Author option and searching for a name will help you locate publications that are written and/or contributed by authors with that name. You may search by first name, last name or both. |
| ISSN/ISBN | If you know the ISSN or ISBN of a publication you can search by entering the number and selcting the ISSN/ISBN option. You must enter the complete number, partial numbers will not match. Hyphens are not required and are ignored. Entering a correct ISBN or ISSN will take you directly to that product page, bypassing the search results page. |
| Keyword | If you are looking for products that focus on particular topics or subtopics or if you aren't sure of the complete title of a product, you can search by entering the word or words and then selecting the keyword option. Your results will be any publication that contains your search word(s) in the title, subtitle, and product description. |

Site Search by |
Searching using the "Site Search by Google" option will broaden your returned results tremendously, as this function queries all individual pages, documents, and files that reside on LWW.com in addition to our product database. You can display search results by either date or relevance, and you can narrow down the results by utilizing all of the unique benefits of the Google search engine. |
| Advanced Keyword Searching allows you to combine search terms using linking expressions. Search by one or more words or phrases in the author, title, and product description. You can also narrow your search by publication year, media type, all the fields, and similar terms. | |
| The following linking expressions can be used to search for a product in title, author, and keyword: | |

Finds products containing both words in your query E.G. Liver AND Children Will return products with both "Liver Disease in Children" but not "Transplantation of the Liver" |
| OR |
Finds products containing either word in your query E.G. radiation OR oncology Will return "Principles and Practice of Radiation Oncology" as well as "Manual of Clinical Oncology" |
| NOT |
Finds products containing the word preceding it but excluding the word following it. E.G. Oncology NOT Pediatric Will return "Current Opinion in Oncology" not "Pediatric Radiation Oncology" |
