Philadelphia, PA (January 18, 2011) – Wolters Kluwer Health, a global leader providing information, business intelligence and point-of-care solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today that its Lippincott Continuing Medical Education Institute (LCMEI), which provides continuing medical education (CME) to physicians and pharmacists, has renewed its accreditation with the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Reaccreditation included Accreditation with Commendation, a designation only awarded to the top 25% of CME providers, and provides for a six-year term of accreditation.
“We are very pleased that the ACCME has chosen to recognize the Lippincott Continuing Medical Education Institute with an Accreditation with Commendation,” said Karen Abramson, President & CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research. “This distinguished honor of Accreditation with Commendation is exemplary of our commitment to excellence across our publications and work to help practitioners improve patient care.” LWW has been an accredited CME provider since 1993 and has certified more medical education than any other nationally accredited publisher in the United States.
As the publisher of premier medical, nursing and allied health journals, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, provides American Medical Association category 1 credits, which all physicians need for maintenance of the professional licenses. Accreditation with Commendation enhances the value of CME and affirms the level of quality of LWW content to individual physicians, societies, and industry.
The LCMEI is also an accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Educators (ACPE).
