Ambler, PA (June 16, 2010) – The 25th Anniversary Clinical Symposium on Advances in Skin & Wound Care: The Conference for Prevention and Healing will be held September 30-October 3, 2010, at the Gaylord Palms Hotel and Convention Center in Kissimee, FL. The symposium is sponsored by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading provider of information and business intelligence for students, professionals, and institutions in medicine, nursing, allied health, and pharmacy. LWW is the publisher of the journal Advances in Skin & Wound Care.
The symposium features the world’s most prominent speakers and experts on wound care, an extremely sophisticated science practiced by providers in many disciplines. Over 1,000 nurses, physicians, podiatrists, physical therapists, and dieticians are expected to attend.
Education sessions will span the practice and are designed for providers at all levels. The symposium will offer CNE contact hours for nurses, CME credit for physicians, CPME credit for podiatrists, CEUs for physical therapists and physical therapy assistants and CPEUs for registered dieticians and dietetic technicians.
Complete conference and registration information is available on the symposium Web site, www.symposiumonwoundcare.com, or by calling 1-800-346-7844 (ext. 6591).
In addition to the education sessions, attendees will also meet with industry representatives and learn about the latest wound care products and advances in the exhibit hall. As in previous years, posters will be displayed that allow the professionals to share their research findings, innovations, and proven treatment modalities with their colleagues.
“This is a special meeting on many levels,” said Symposium Program Director Sharon Baranoski, MSN, RN, CWOCN, APN, DAPWCA, FAAN. “We are celebrating our silver anniversary, so we drew on past experiences and feedback to build an outstanding program. The topics are particularly innovative, with all new content that has already created a great deal of excitement.”
Due to its popularity, Baranoski said the Physician Certification in Wound Care-CMET examination will be offered again this year. The exam will be featured as a post-conference option, as will a new offering: the Physician Hypberbaric Certification Examination.
