Ambler, PA (February 24, 2010)- – -This year’s National Conference for Nurse Practitioners: The Conference for Primary and Acute Care Clinicians (www.ncnpconference.com) will blend interactive workshops with high-level critical thinking sessions to inspire and educate nurses. The conference, which will be held May 19-22, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, in Chicago, IL, is sponsored by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, publisher of The Nurse Practitioner (www.TheNursePractitioner.com) journal and part of Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading provider of information and business intelligence for students, professionals and institutions in medicine, nursing, allied health, and pharmacy.

Nurse practitioners and advanced practice clinicians practicing in primary and acute care settings are expected to attend. Conference attendees will participate in popular hands-on workshops on such topics as suturing and orthopedic splinting and will also benefit from education sessions on pharmacogenetics, heart failure, skin cancer, and more. All sessions are presented by leading experts.

At the conference, participants will earn continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours and pharmacology credits, enjoy networking and special events, meet with vendors in the exhibit hall, and view poster presentations. The value of the conference extends beyond the ‘live’ event with online access to the sessions offered after the event concludes. This allows participants to virtually attend courses they may have missed and earn additional credit. They can also prepare ahead of time for the conference by going online and downloading session materials.

“We’ve designed an exciting, educational program that extends to not only practitioners who can attend the conference in Chicago, but for those who join us virtually,” said Dr. Margaret Fitzgerald, Conference Chairperson.
