About the Author:
Laura Bryan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, having earned a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology. After working ten years in medical laboratories, Ms. Bryan transitioned to a career in medical transcription.
She has authored The MTs Guide to MS Word 3rd Edition and Technology for the Medical Transcriptionist, both published by Lippincott Williams and Wilkins (LWW). She was an associate editor for the CMT Review Guide and the RMT Review Guide published by LWW and the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI). Ms. Bryan has published numerous articles in trade magazines and the professional journals of AHDI. In addition, Ms. Bryan has served on the AHDI board of directors and also on the AHDI staff.
Ms. Bryan and her husband Bob own MedEDocs, a transcription software and services company, and MTWerks, a technology consulting business. She conducts on-site training and online classes specifically for MTs using MS Word and Windows with a focus on productivity with accuracy.
