Joel A Goebel, MD, FACS is Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, MO. He also serves as Director of the Dizziness and Balance Center at the Center for Advanced Medicine and has devoted his career to the diagnosis and management of dizziness and balance disorders. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on dizziness and vertigo and has published over 100 abstracts and publications and edited four books. He served as the 2006-2007 President of the American Neurotology Society and is actively involved in many professional committees on balance as well as the medical advisory board of VEDA (Vestibular Disorders Association). His clinical research focuses on innovative diagnostic and treatment methods for patients with chronic vestibular disorders and postural instability.
