ASHPE’s 11th annual awards competition recognizes member articles and publications for editorial, design, print, and online award categories.

“We are honored that LWW has been recognized for excellence in publishing with 19 awards, including Magazine of the Year, by such a well-respected membership organization as the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (ASHPE),” said Karen Abramson, President and CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research. “This recognition is a true testament to the dedication of our publishing and editorial teams and their mission to deliver the highest quality journal literature across our specialties. They continue to raise the bar higher each year for the healthcare publishing industry and we celebrate them today for a job very well done.”

This year, LWW took home the esteemed 2011 Magazine of the Year award for Nursing made Incredibly Easy! The distinctively illustrated Nursing made Incredibly Easy! breaks down difficult or confusing clinical concepts and presents them in a refreshingly original, easily understood, and engaging format. Articles are contributed by experienced clinicians, ensuring that content is based on sound clinical principles and hands-on expertise.

“We’ve been watching this unique publication since its inception and we’re not at all surprised that it’s receiving this award this year,” said Nancy Blanchard, ASHPE Managing Director. “Our judges commented that Nursing made Incredibly Easy! is first-in-class in addressing readers in a style that’s informative, yet not pretentious. It distributes high-quality information that makes the nursing profession more accessible to new nurses, while providing invaluable info to long-time nurses too.”

Other notable category wins from LWW-published titles include OR Nurse2010 and Oncology Times for Best Feature Article Series, silver and bronze, respectively; and Neurology Now, the official patient magazine of the American Academy of Neurology, taking gold for Best Custom Publication and Best Open Page/Spread-Photo, and silver for Best Profile and Overall Use of Graphics.
