Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Wins Three Magnum Opus Awards Recognizing Editorial Excellence for The American Journal of Nursing

Sponsored by ContentWise, a Magnum Opus Award is a strong indicator of a journal’s leadership position. The 2011 judges for the Magnum Opus Awards recognized AJN in these categories:

  • Silver – Best Signed Editorial or Essay: No Time for Complacency, written by Shawn Kennedy, MA, RN, Editor-in-Chief
  • Honorable Mention – Best Sidebar: Men Get Breast Cancer Too, written by Amy Collins, Associate Editor
  • Gold – Best Blog Entry: No Country for Old Women, written by Amy Collins, Associate Editor

“The American Journal of Nursing has been the leading voice of nursing since 1900 and is the most recognized nursing journal in the world. In fact, AJN has won more awards for editorial excellence and dissemination of information than any other nursing publication,” said Karen Abramson, President and CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research. “It is especially noteworthy that AJN was recognized by the esteemed Magnum Opus judges for multiple awards across all publication venues — not just healthcare publishing. We applaud the editorial team at AJN and are proud of their accomplishments.”

LWW is the gold standard for nursing information used in education, practice, and at the point-of-care. In addition to AJN, trusted nursing resources published by LWW include Nursing2010, Nursing Management, The Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Made Incredibly Easy! journal, NursingCenter.com online resource for the latest news and continuing education information, as well as the highly regarded reference books, Nursing Made Incredibly Easy!, Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice, and Nursing Drug Handbook, among many others.
